Sherbourne Common, Toronto, Canada (2010)
Sherbourne Common on Toronto’s waterfront opened in 2010 and was part of an effort to lead waterfront renewal and brownfield rehabilitation around the harbour front on Lake Ontario. It is the first park in Canada to incorporate a neighbourhood stormwater management system. Stormwater runoff is collected in storage tanks located below the park for initial treatment and is then discharged from three towers, which are public art features.
