Minky Tamiang, a 7-year-old male orangutan was confiscated from east Aceh where he was kept as a pet for three years.
These are the final days of preparation (soft release), before his release back into the wild.

The goal of the Jantho Reintroduction Centre is to establish a new, wild and sustainable Sumatran orangutan population. Since 2011, over 100 orangutans have been released.
