Crimson World
Although I possess a trained and experienced eye for finding insects, it is an incredible fact that there are indeed so many around us! I found a small damselfly covered in morning dew resting on a flower. I carefully took the flower with the damselfly on it into my plant house where I was protected from the wind. Meanwhile, the little damselfly partially awoke and brushed away some dew drops from its eyes. It was good that its eyes were almost dry, but other parts of its body were still covered in dew. I took many shots as it remained in a state hibernation. Upon warming up to the right temperature, the damselfly began to warm up its wings and I let it fly out. For this photo, I took 153 shots and stacked them into one composite image. I used a Sony a7R IV camera and Laowa 25mm 2.5-5x Ultra macro lens at 2.5:1 magnification on a tripod and electronic macro rails.
