Because of war lives of residents on both sides of Donetsk have been turned into a daily struggle.
The homes of many workers from Europe's largest coke production plant - AKHZ (Avdiivka Coke & Chemical Plant) are in Donetsk People’s Republic. The workers have to travel each day to the plant and back to their families. The city of Donetsk lies but 10 kilometres from Avdiivka, but there is no longer a direct route connecting them. Travellers must make a 150 KM detour and pass through three Ukrainian and two rebel checkpoints to get there, spending up to 11 hours on the road without a guarantee that they will cross in time.
Sergey Chumak, a resident of Avdiivka, and a worker from AKHZ, is visiting his parents' graves on the cemetery of Donetsk, March 04 2017, Donetsk, Eastern Ukraine
