Gemini V - August 21–29, 1965 - NASA ID: S65-45721
This was the first week-long stay in space, crewed by Mercury astronaut Gordon Cooper and Pete Conrad, who would later walk on the Moon as Commander of Apollo 12. The spectacular images from Gemini IV convinced NASA of the importance of space photography, especially from a public affairs perspective. The longer-duration missions also afforded more time to undertake photography of Earth, such as this image of the Kavir Salt Flats, Iran.
