ABU DHABI, UAE, DECEMBER 2, 2017 -- A Houbara Bustard tries to flee a Gyr Falcon after the first strike at a falcon hunting camp in the desert outside Abu Dhabi, UAE. The Houbara is a worthy adversary, it weighs more than twice what the falcon weighs and is a skilful flyer. It uses feathers that come out easily to escape the falcon's talons. This camp uses captive-bred Houbara Bustards, the preferred prey species of Arab falconers across the region

أبوظبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة، 2 ديسمبر 2017: طائر الحبارى الأفريقي يحاول الفرار من صقر الجير بعد الضربة الأولى في مخيم لصيد الصقور في الصحراء خارج أبوظبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة. تعتبر الحبارى فريسة قيّمة فهي تزن أكثر من ضعف وزن الصقر وتعدّ طائراً ماهراً. وفي التفاصيل أنها تستخدم الريش الذي يخرج منها بسهولة للهروب من مخالب الصقر. يستخدم هذا المخيم طيور الحبارى الأسيرة التي تعدّ أفضل أنواع الفرائس لدى مدرّبي الصقور العرب في جميع أنحاء المنطقة.
