This is one of the biggest and brightest supermoons to have been observed in recent history, the moon not having been so close to Earth since 1948, at a distance of only 356,511 km (221,525 mi) away. This will not occur again until 2034.

يبزغ القمر العملاق فوق أكواخ مزارع البطلينوس في شاطئ دونغ تشاو في محافظة تاي بنه بفيتنام في نوفمبر 2016. وهي إحدى أكبر ظواهر القمر العملاق وأكثرها إشراقاً والأقرب إلى الأرض منذ العام 1948 إذ يبعد عنها مسافة 356511 كيلومتراً (221525 ميلاً) فقط ولن يتمّ كسر هذا الرقم القياسي مجدداً قبل العام 2034.
