عمّال يعاينون الأنابيب في منشأة نوفو نورديسك لإنتاج الإنسولين في كالوندبورغ، الدانمارك. تنتج المنشأة نصف إنتاج العالم من الإنسولين ضمن عملية تولّد أطناناً من ملاط الخميرة كمنتج ثانوي. وبالتالي، يتمّ استخدام الملاط لصناعة أسمدةٍ زراعية وطاقة الكتلة الحيوية لتشغيل حديقة كالوندبورغ الصناعية البيئية، وهي شراكة بين تسع شركات تتحول الرواسب في إحداها إلى موردٍ في أخرى.
