يمكن لأنثى الفهد أن تضع أطفالها في أيّ وقت من العام، وتحمل في كلّ مرّة بجروَين أو ثلاثة. تبقى الأمّهات مع جرائها حتى تبلغ حوالي السنتَين من العمر، ثمّ تتركها بعد أن تصبح بعمرٍ يسمح لها بالصيد والاهتمام بنفسها.
