كان بوب، الذي يسبح في منطقة البحر الكاريبي، جزءاً من مجموعة عابرة يتراوح عددها بين 400 و600 طائر فلامنغو أميركي يتغذّى من المسطحات الملحية في كوراساو. تتكاثر الطيور في المناطق المجاورة على غرار بونير وفنزويلا وتستخدم كوراساو كمركز للهجرة.
