Buffalo Bayou Park, Houston, USA (2015)
Historically, the banks of the Bayou were the site of the Allen Brothers’ founding of the city in 1836, and the lower portions of the river were utilized to develop the Port of Houston. The transformation of a 160-acre stretch of Buffalo Bayou was completed in 2015. The $58 million project was a public-private partnership to restore the area to a more natural and sustaining state, reintroducing native landscapes and providing sports amenities.
