Uganda, Karamoja, 1986
The Ugandan army was tracking down a group of marauders who had raided several villages, stealing cattle and massacring villagers. At dawn, the soldiers entered a town thought to be a refuge for the raiders. This boy was startled from sleep and, still wrapped in his blanket, was ordered outside while the soldiers searched his home.
