DUBAI, UAE, SEPTEMBER 20, 2017: Sheikh Butti bin Maktoum Bin Juma trains a Gyr falcon using an ancient lure technique in the desert outside Dubai. The Sheikh begins before dawn during the season, preparing them for a falcon hunt in Uzbekistan where he will hunt alongside other members of the royal family in a tradition that goes back millennia. The Sheikh is credited with being the first to use captive-bred falcons, reducing pressure on wild falcons.

دبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة، 20 سبتمبر 2017: الشيخ بطي مكتوم بن جمعة يدرّب صقر الجير باستخدام تقنية الطعم القديمة في الصحراء خارج دبي. تبدأ التدريبات قبل بزوغ الفجر خلال الموسم مطاردة الصقر في أوزبكستان مع أفراد آخرين من العائلة المالكة في تقليد يعود إلى آلاف السنين. يعود الفضل إلى الشيخ باعتباره أول من استخدم الصقور الأسيرة، وهذا ما خفّف من الضغط على الصقور البرية.
