With its orange fur and blue face, the golden snub-nosed monkey is one of the world’s most colourful primates, and the pink tongue puts the icing on the cake. Found in forested mountains of western China, the thick-furred monkey endures snow cover for 4-6 months a year and winter temperatures down to minus 30 degrees Celsius, the coldest temperature recorded in any monkey habitat. It lives in some of the largest and most complex primate societies.
