We saw outriggers gathered near a tiny islet but from the surface, the sea appeared empty. I slid in, dipped below the surface and could not believe my eyes. An endless shoal of baitfish formed a silver carousel that circled slowly around a tiny islet like a living clock. The fisherman stood, creating dark statues silhouetted against a clearing sky.
