The Okavango Delta is born from the rains that fall in the mountains of Angola and flow into Botswana forming a vast delta of braided channels and flood plains. I was working beneath the surface where I heard the sound of singing and looked up through a tangle of lilies to see a man passing by in his mokoro. He stopped singing when he saw me but the rhythmic sound of the ngashi followed him downstream.
